clau000064 days ago1 min readA 19-year-old man is detained for allegedly drug-related offenses after ditching his motorcycle and escaping a roadblock on foot.On January 3, a 19-year-old male was riding a motorcycle when he came along a traffic police roadblock.The man got off his motorcycle and tried to run away for his life.In response to Mothership's inquiries, the Singapore Police Force (SPF) stated that on January 3, while the Traffic Police (TP) were manning a roadblock near Lavender Street, officers noticed a motorcyclist trying to escape on foot at around 11:25 p.m.After witnessing his effort, a number of police officers pursued him.After being taken into custody on the first floor of Aperia Mall, the man was taken to the hospital while still conscious.According to the police, a TP officer was taken to the hospital while conscious after suffering minor injuries during the pursuit.The Central Narcotics Bureau (CNB) has been tasked with investigating the man's possible drug-related offenses.Penalties According to the Police Force Act of 2004, evading a roadblock is punishable by a fine of up to S$10,000, a maximum sentence of seven years in prison, or both. Possession of controlled substances carries a maximum sentence of ten years in jail, a fine of $20,000, or both. However, if found guilty of drug trafficking, a person may be sentenced to life in prison or even death. Investigations by the police are still ongoing.
